The revised-age notice dated 20 May 2026 increased the upper age limit to 44 years as on 1 January 2024 and retained the usual reserved-category relaxations.

Qualification

  • A degree from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification.
  • Ability to read, write and speak Bengali is required.
  • The Bengali-language requirement does not apply to candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali.
  • Candidates whose mother tongue is neither Bengali nor Nepali will have their Bengali knowledge tested during the Personality Test.
  • Candidates must have possessed the required qualification by the final application closing date.

Experience

The detailed advertisement does not prescribe previous employment experience as an essential qualification. Candidates must satisfy the degree, language, age, nationality, character and health requirements.

Preliminary Examination Centres

Kolkata, Baruipur, Diamond Harbour, Barrackpore, Barasat, Howrah, Chinsurah, Burdwan, Durgapur, Medinipur, Tamluk, Bankura, Purulia, Jhargram, Suri, Krishnanagar, Berhampore, Malda, Balurghat, Raiganj, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Siliguri, Kalimpong and Darjeeling.

Candidates must attend only the centre and venue printed on their admit card. WBPSC may allot an adjacent centre when accommodation at the selected centre is unavailable.

How to Download the Admit Card

  1. Open the official WBPSC website from 22 September 2026.
  2. Select the e-admit-card or candidate sign-in facility.
  3. Enter the registered enrollment number and password or other requested credentials.
  4. Choose “Miscellaneous Services Recruitment Preliminary Examination, 2024.”
  5. Open and download the e-admit card.
  6. Check the candidate’s name, roll number, examination centre, date and reporting time.
  7. Read the photograph, signature, identity-proof and examination-day instructions.
  8. Print a clear copy of the admit card.
  9. Carry the original photo ID declared in the application.
  10. Reach only the venue shown on the admit card on 4 October 2026.
  11. Preserve the admit card for subsequent recruitment stages.
