SSC CHT and Stenographer Scribe Deadline Corrigendum 2026 – 1,034 Tentative Vacancies

Staff Selection Commission has shortened the own-scribe OTR mapping deadlines for the Combined Hindi Translator and Stenographer Grade C and D examinations.

Corrected deadlines: Combined Hindi Translator candidates must map their own scribe’s OTR by 4 September 2026 at 11:00 PM. Stenographer Grade C and D candidates have until 5 September 2026 at 11:00 PM.
The earlier deadlines of 6 September for CHT and 7 September for Stenographer no longer apply. SSC will generate a Scribe Entry Pass only after successful mapping of the scribe’s OTR.

The current corrigendum changes only the own-scribe mapping deadlines. It does not change the original age conditions.

Qualification

Combined Hindi Translator

  • A recognised master’s degree in Hindi with English at degree level, or a master’s degree in English with Hindi at degree level; or
  • Another recognised master’s degree satisfying the prescribed Hindi-medium, English-medium or Hindi-and-English subject conditions; and
  • A recognised Hindi-to-English and English-to-Hindi translation diploma or certificate, or the applicable government translation experience.

Stenographer Grade C and D

  • Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board or university by 1 August 2026.
  • Candidates must also qualify in the prescribed stenography skill test.

How to Map the Own-Scribe OTR

  1. Open the current SSC corrigendum and note the corrected deadline for the applicable examination.
  2. Confirm that the candidate selected the own-scribe option in the examination application.
  3. Ask the proposed scribe to complete a fresh SSC scribe OTR if the earlier registration was completed before 5 November 2025.
  4. Complete the scribe’s Aadhaar authentication during registration.
  5. Save the scribe OTR number generated through the registered mobile number.
  6. Open the official SSC candidate login.
  7. Log in using the candidate’s registration details.
  8. Open the admission-certificate or own-scribe mapping facility for the applicable examination.
  9. Enter the scribe’s OTR number.
  10. Obtain the OTP delivered to the scribe’s registered mobile number.
  11. Enter the OTP and confirm the own-scribe mapping.
  12. Download the candidate’s Admission Certificate and Scribe Entry Pass after successful mapping.
  13. CHT candidates must finish by 4 September 2026 at 11:00 PM.
  14. Stenographer candidates must finish by 5 September 2026 at 11:00 PM.
  15. Carry the printed passes and all prescribed documents to the examination centre.

Can a candidate use an unauthenticated own scribe?

No. The notified procedure requires the own scribe to complete OTR and Aadhaar authentication. Otherwise, SSC may provide a scribe or assistive technology according to its rules.
