Joint Director Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field from a recognised university or equivalent.
  • Holding an analogous post regularly in the relevant area; or
  • Three years of regular service in Pay Level 11; or
  • Five years of regular service in Pay Level 10.

Desirable qualification

  • Master’s degree in the relevant field.
  • Experience working in the examination system of a university or board.

Research Scientist ‘C’ Eligibility

  • PhD with postgraduate qualification carrying at least 55% marks in Psychology, Psychometrics, Statistics, Mathematics, Testing Methodology or Education.
  • Ten years of post-qualification experience in the assessment sector or relevant area.
  • Holding an analogous regular post; or
  • Three years of regular service in Pay Level 11; or
  • Five years of regular service in Pay Level 10.

Desirable experience

  • At least two years of experience in the assessment sector.
  • Applicants with psychometric-testing experience will receive preference.

Deputy Director Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field from a recognised university or equivalent.
  • Holding an analogous regular post in the relevant area; or
  • Three years of regular service in Pay Level 10.

Desirable qualification

  • Master’s degree in the relevant field.
  • Experience working in the examination system of a university or board.

Assistant Director Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field from a recognised university or an equivalent grade of B on the UGC seven-point scale.
  • Holding an analogous post regularly in the parent organisation; or
  • Three years of regular service in Pay Level 8 or equivalent/higher; or
  • Five years of regular service in Pay Level 7 or equivalent/higher.

Desirable qualification and experience

  • Master’s degree in the relevant field.
  • Eight years of relevant experience.
  • At least five years of the experience should be in a supervisory or superintendent capacity at the prescribed level.

Senior Superintendent Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field from a recognised university.
  • Knowledge of office procedures, rules, computer applications and secretarial practice.
  • Holding an analogous regular post; or
  • Three years of regular service in Pay Level 6 or equivalent/higher; or
  • Five years of regular service in Pay Level 5 or equivalent/higher.

Certain positions may be earmarked for applicants with a Bachelor of Commerce qualification and suitable accounts or audit experience.

Desirable experience

Relevant experience may include accounts, audit, purchase, establishment, legal work, recruitment, academic matters, estate management, project management, procurement, stores and stock verification. Computer-working experience is also desirable.

Depending on the selected post, eligible officers or employees may be drawn from:

  • All India Services
  • Central Government departments
  • State Government departments
  • Union Territory administrations
  • Central or State autonomous organisations
  • Statutory organisations
  • Public Sector Undertakings, where permitted for the post

Officers who obtained the required pay level only through ACP, MACP or an ad-hoc arrangement are not eligible. The prescribed service must be held regularly in a substantive post.

Selection Process

  • Scrutiny of applications received through the proper channel
  • Verification of qualification and regular-service eligibility
  • Screening or shortlisting by criteria fixed by NTA
  • Interview for shortlisted candidates
  • Verification of original documents during the interview
  • Final selection by the competent NTA authority

Meeting the minimum eligibility conditions does not provide an automatic right to be shortlisted or called for an interview.

Documents Required

The Cadre Controlling Authority or parent organisation must forward the prescribed application with:

  • Completed application form in the prescribed format
  • Certification from the Cadre Controlling Authority or parent organisation
  • Attested copies of complete and updated APAR/ACR records for five years
  • No Report Certificate for any applicable period without an APAR
  • Vigilance Clearance Certificate
  • Integrity Certificate
  • Statement of major or minor penalties during the previous ten years
  • Cadre Clearance or No Objection Certificate
  • Educational qualification certificates
  • Service and experience records
  • Recent passport-size photograph

Applications submitted directly without the proper channel or without the prescribed certificates and service records will not be considered.
