The National Testing Agency has invited online applications for the Rashtriya Indian Military College Entrance Examination 2026. The examination is for Class VIII admission to RIMC, Dehradun, for the July 2027 term.

RIMC admissions are conducted twice yearly under the applicable state-wise and zone-wise merit system. The Information Bulletin indicates the following tentative intake per term:

Age Limit
Candidates must be between 12 years and 6 months and 14 years of age on 1 July 2027.
Qualification
At the time of admission, the candidate must be studying in Class VII or must have passed Class VII from a recognised school.
Experience
Not applicable. This is a school-admission entrance examination.
Application and Late Fee
Bank, payment-gateway, service charges or applicable taxes are additional. A confirmation page must be generated after successful payment.
Selection Process
- Stage-I written examination conducted by NTA.
- Stage-II viva voce conducted for written-examination qualifiers.
- Medical examination at a designated military hospital.
- Final merit list, document verification and admission.
RIMCEE 2026 Exam Pattern
- The examination is bilingual in English and Hindi, except for the English-language questions.
- There is no negative marking.
- Candidates must obtain at least 50% in each written subject.
- The viva voce carries 50 marks and requires 50% to qualify.
- Candidates must pass the written examination, viva voce and medical examination separately.

- Service certificate where applicable to defence or transferable-government-service wards.

- Read the complete Information Bulletin and confirm the candidate’s age and educational eligibility.
- Select the RIMC Entrance Examination December 2026 online-application link.
- Register using an active email address and mobile number.
- Record the system-generated registration number.
- Complete the online application with personal, school, domicile and category details.
- Upload the photograph, signature, thumb impression and prescribed certificates.
- Review every entry carefully before final submission.
- Pay the applicable examination fee online.
- Download and retain the confirmation page and fee-payment proof.
- Complete the regular application by 30 September 2026 or the late application by 7 October 2026.
Do not send the confirmation page or hard copies to NTA. Original documents will be verified during the later admission stages.

What is the regular application deadline?
The online application must be submitted by 5:00 PM on 30 September 2026. Regular fee payment closes at 11:50 PM that day.
Can candidates apply after the regular deadline?
Yes. Late applications are permitted from 1 to 7 October 2026 with an additional ₹500 late fee.
When will the written examination be conducted?
The Stage-I written examination will be conducted on 6 December 2026.
Can both boys and girls apply?
Yes. The bulletin indicates a tentative term-wise intake of 25 boy cadets and 10 girl cadets.
What is the eligible date-of-birth range?
The candidate must have been born between 2 July 2013 and 1 January 2015, including both dates.
Is there negative marking?
No. The official Information Bulletin states that the written examination has no negative marking.
