Post Details
Branch Postmaster – BPM Responsible for Branch Post Office operations, IPPB transactions, marketing and overall functioning of the Branch Office.
Assistant Branch Postmaster – ABPM Assists with postal operations, mail delivery, stamps, IPPB transactions and other assigned duties.
Dak Sevak May perform mail handling, delivery, postal transactions and other duties in Post Offices, Sorting Offices, Mail Offices or Delivery Centres.
Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a Class 10 / Secondary School Examination pass certificate from a recognised Board with passing marks in:

  • Mathematics
  • English

Candidates must also have studied the prescribed local language up to at least Class 10 standard.

  • Knowledge of computers.
  • Knowledge of cycling.
  • Adequate means of livelihood in addition to GDS allowances.
  • Ability to use a smartphone, laptop or computer from the first day of engagement.

Annual Increase 3% increase in TRCA subject to applicable GDS rules and conditions.
Additional Benefits: GDS personnel are also eligible for applicable Dearness Allowance and certain social-security benefits under Department of Posts rules.

Selection Process

There is no written examination or interview for GDS selection.
