Role Overview

The Senior Manager will operate as a commercially focused business-development lead for CESSA. The two main priorities are building opportunities with sports federations and communities, and developing CESSA’s consortium membership programme for companies and startups.

Sports PartnershipsBuild relationships with national and state sports federations, clubs, government bodies and athlete communities.

Consortium DevelopmentDesign membership tiers, onboard companies and startups, manage renewals, and grow partnership revenue.

Qualification and Experience

Route 1: Bachelor’s DegreeUndergraduate degree in Business, Sports Management, Engineering or a related field, with 10 years of relevant experience.

Route 2: Postgraduate DegreeMBA or postgraduate degree in Sports Management, Business or a related discipline, with 5–8 years of relevant experience.

• Experience should be in business development, partnerships or institutional sales, with a demonstrated record of closing deals.
• Experience with sports organisations, sports-tech companies, government sports bodies or related industries is essential.
• An existing network within Indian sports federations, sporting communities or the sports-tech ecosystem is required.
• Relevant experience gained after the minimum qualifying degree will be considered.
• Excellent written and spoken English is required; an additional Indian language is advantageous.
• Applicants must be comfortable with pan-India travel of approximately 8–10 days per month.

Key Responsibilities

• Map sports federations and communities, identify projects, and convert opportunities into briefs for CESSA teams.
• Negotiate project scope, timelines and commercial terms, and support MoUs and Letters of Intent.
• Represent CESSA at sports events, conclaves and government consultations.
• Develop consortium pricing and benefits, onboard members, and manage engagement, renewals and upselling.
• Build partnerships with investors, accelerators and corporate innovation teams in the sports-tech ecosystem.
• Maintain a live CRM and report membership revenue, pipeline and engagement metrics.
