Qualification and Experience

Post Essential Qualification Required Experience
Assistant Manager – Transmission Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks. Minimum eight years of post-qualification experience in transmission utilities, power-sector CPSEs, regulatory bodies, consulting firms or power-infrastructure organisations.
Assistant Manager – Hydro Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks. Minimum eight years of post-qualification experience in hydroelectric power projects.
Expert – Hydro Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 25 years of post-qualification power-sector experience, including at least 15 years in hydro projects. Applicants should be senior executives from eligible CPSEs or Government power-sector organisations and have worked on at least two major Hydro or Pumped Storage projects.
Expert – Transmission Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Minimum 25 years of post-qualification power-sector experience, including at least 15 years in transmission planning, project execution, system operation, grid management, asset management or transmission business development. Senior E-8/DPE-grade or equivalent experience is required.
Expert – Regulatory (Distribution) B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with MBA in Power or Finance. At least 25 years of post-qualification experience in State Electricity Regulatory Commissions and/or electricity distribution companies.
Associate – Energy Transition and Climate Finance Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and a postgraduate or master’s qualification in Engineering, Energy Management, Power Management, Finance, Business Administration or a related field. Minimum eight years of post-qualification experience. Power-sector research, climate finance, renewable energy, programme management and stakeholder-engagement experience are preferred.
Executive Assistant to Director General Educational qualification is not separately specified in the official detailed JD. Applicant must be an executive from a power-sector Central Public Sector Enterprise, Government of India organisation or eligible autonomous body.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills

Assistant Manager – Transmission

  • M.E./M.Tech. in Power Systems or Electrical Engineering.
  • MBA or PGDM in Power Management or Infrastructure Management.
  • Training in transmission systems, grid operation or power-system studies.

Assistant Manager – Hydro

  • M.E./M.Tech. in Hydropower, Power Systems, Water Resources or a related discipline.
  • MBA or PGDM in Power Management.
  • Experience in pumped storage, hydro construction, O&M, hydrology, project monitoring, EPC contracts and statutory clearances.

Expert Positions

  • Postgraduate engineering, management or specialised professional qualifications relevant to the selected sector.
  • Senior-level exposure to Government ministries, CEA, CTU, regulatory commissions, CPSEs, utilities or DISCOMs.
  • Experience in policy, regulations, technical advisory, project monitoring and stakeholder coordination.

Associate – Energy Transition and Climate Finance

  • Energy-efficiency, renewable-energy, climate-policy and climate-finance experience.
  • Knowledge of carbon markets, blended finance, GCF, CDM and financial-risk assessment.
  • Strong analytical, research, project-management, writing, Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Contract Period and Service Conditions
