📢 TAMIL NADU REITERATES DEMAND FOR EXEMPTION

The academic year 2026 has been marked by significant turmoil in medical admissions. Following the official cancellation of the NEET-UG 2026 exam held on May 3, Tamil Nadu has reignited its long-standing push for an exemption from the national examination system.

🔍 Why is the state demanding an exemption?

Systemic Failures: The May 2026 paper leak scandal has undermined confidence in the National Testing Agency's (NTA) ability to conduct fair, secure exams.
Social Equity: The state argues that the NEET system favors coaching-heavy models, disadvantaging students from rural and government-school backgrounds.
Legislative Push: CM C. Joseph Vijay and state leaders have requested an ordinance to bypass NEET, aiming to return to a merit-based admission model using Class 12 marks.
