Government Recruitment
A regular government post filled through an official recruitment process. Selection may include a written exam, trade/skill test, document verification and medical examination.
PSU / Government Company Job
A direct job in a public-sector or government-owned company. Pay, service rules, job status and selection process are governed by that organisation’s advertisement.
Apprenticeship Training
Time-limited practical training under an apprenticeship contract with a stipend. Completion does not automatically create a right to permanent employment.

✅ Seven Checks Before You Apply
- Exact trade name: Fitter and Welder are not interchangeable. Your certificate trade must appear in the eligible-trade list.
- Certificate recognition: Confirm whether the notification requires NCVT, SCVT, NTC, NAC, recognised ITI or another specified authority.
- School qualification: Some recruitments require both Class 10/SSLC and ITI, not ITI alone.
- Qualification cut-off date: The final ITI result/certificate may be required before the closing date. Awaiting-result candidates are often not eligible.
- Age and category certificate: Check the calculation date, relaxation rules and required certificate format.
- Medical or physical standard: Railway, defence and certain technical posts may prescribe vision, fitness or other medical standards.

Separate trade theory from common subjects such as mathematics, reasoning, general science and general awareness. - Revise your complete ITI trade syllabus.
Focus on tools, materials, measurements, safety, workshop calculation, engineering drawing and practical procedures relevant to your trade. - Practise objective questions and previous papers.
Use timed practice and review every wrong answer instead of memorising only answer keys. - Prepare for the skill or trade test.
Revise safe tool handling, job sequence, accuracy, measurement and fault identification where a practical stage is notified. - Keep documents ready.
Maintain Class 10 marksheet, ITI semester marksheets, NTC/NAC/NCVT/SCVT certificate, photo, signature, Aadhaar/ID, community/EWS/PwBD certificate and apprenticeship records as applicable.

Can an ITI pass candidate get a permanent government job?
Yes, when the candidate satisfies an official direct-recruitment notification for a post such as Technician, Artisan, Tradesman or another trade-specific role and clears every selection stage. An ITI certificate by itself does not guarantee appointment.
Which railway exams can ITI candidates write?
ITI candidates commonly watch RRB Technician and Assistant Loco Pilot recruitments, plus other railway notifications that accept their qualification. Eligibility depends on the exact trade, post parameters and current Centralised Employment Notification.
Is an ITI apprenticeship a government job?
No. Apprenticeship is training for a fixed period under a contract and normally carries a stipend. The establishment is not automatically required to provide a permanent job after training.
Can final-semester ITI students apply?
Only if the official notice permits it. Many recruitments require the prescribed qualification and declared result by the closing or eligibility cut-off date.
Are NCVT and SCVT both accepted?
