Vacancy Details
CTET is a teacher-eligibility examination and does not advertise a fixed number of vacancies. Passing CTET is one of the eligibility requirements used by applicable teacher-recruitment authorities.
Salary
CTET does not carry a salary or appointment. Salary will depend on the school, recruiting organisation, post and pay level for which a CTET-qualified candidate is subsequently selected.
Age Limit
The CTET information bulletin does not prescribe a separate upper age limit for appearing in the examination. Candidates must, however, satisfy the qualification and age conditions of any teacher recruitment for which they later apply.
Qualification
- Candidates must satisfy the minimum teacher-education qualifications notified by the National Council for Teacher Education.
- The applicable qualification must also conform to the recruitment rules of the appropriate Government, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan or Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, where relevant.
- Paper I is intended for candidates seeking eligibility to teach Classes I to V.
- Paper II is intended for candidates seeking eligibility to teach Classes VI to VIII.
- Candidates seeking eligibility for both levels must appear in both papers.
- Eligible reserved-category candidates receive up to 5% relaxation in the minimum educational-qualification marks.
Experience
No separate employment-experience requirement is prescribed merely for appearing in CTET. Candidates must possess the applicable educational and teacher-training qualifications.
