Eligibility Criteria

Officers under the Central Government, State Government, Union Territory Administration, recognized research institution, university, public sector undertaking, statutory or autonomous organization are eligible subject to the following conditions:

  • Holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; or
  • Having 2 years of regular service in Level-9 of the pay matrix or equivalent; or
  • Having 4 years of regular service in Level-8 of the pay matrix or equivalent; and
  • Possessing the required educational qualification and experience.

Qualification Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute
Experience Three years’ experience relating to handling of sensitive materials in strong room operations or conduct of examinations in Central Government / State Government / Union Territory Administration / University / Government recognized research institution / statutory or autonomous organization.

Period of Deputation

The period of deputation shall be initially for 3 years or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The deputation period including another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment shall ordinarily not exceed three years.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • In-charge of access control in assigned security zone requiring continuous presence.
  • Monitor and ensure serviceability of biometric access control system.
  • Ensure safe and secure movement of sensitive material and confidential documents.
  • Issue casual passes and maintain visitor register in Confidential Branch.
  • Responsible for safe custody of main door keys of all floors of Confidential Branch.
  • Liaison with other branches / agencies for security, logistics and transportation for confidential meetings.
  • Supervise subordinates working under him.
  • Perform any other work assigned for maintaining safe and secure environment in the Confidential Branch.
