Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) has released the official notification for the recruitment of Town Planning Assistants in the Town and Country Planning Department.

Educational Qualification

Town Planning Assistant

Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Planning – B.Planning or B.Tech in Planning from a recognised university or institution.

Candidates must possess the prescribed educational qualification as on the date of the official notification. Equivalent qualifications will be considered only according to the decision of the competent authority or expert committee.

Distance Education Qualification

Candidates who obtained the prescribed qualification through open university or distance education must ensure that the university and programme are recognised by the appropriate statutory authority, such as UGC, AICTE or the Distance Education Bureau.

Age Limit

Age will be calculated as on 1 July 2026.

Employees of corporations, municipalities and similar organisations are not eligible for the age relaxation available to Telangana State Government employees.

Salary Details

Monthly Pay Scale ₹51,320 – ₹1,27,310

Selected candidates will also receive applicable allowances and benefits according to Telangana government service rules.

Government Employees: Employees working under Central Government, State Government, PSUs, corporations or other government-sector organisations must pay the prescribed ₹120 examination fee.

The application and examination fees must be paid online through Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card or UPI. Fees once paid will not be refunded or adjusted.

Selection Process

Objective-Type Written Examination

Selection will be based on the marks secured in an objective-type examination conducted either through Computer Based Recruitment Test or offline OMR examination.

The examination is tentatively scheduled for October 2026. The final examination date, mode and session details will be announced by TGPSC.

Securing the minimum qualifying marks does not automatically provide a right to selection. Appointment will depend on merit, reservation, local status, post preference and availability of vacancies.

  • Non-Creamy Layer certificate for eligible BC candidates.
  • Disability certificate, where applicable.
  • Ex-servicemen or NCC certificate, where applicable.
  • No Objection Certificate for candidates already employed in government service.

How to Apply for TGPSC Town Planning Assistant Recruitment?

  1. Visit the official Telangana Public Service Commission website.
  2. Complete the TGPSC One Time Registration process if you have not registered previously.
  3. Candidates who already have a TGPSC ID should verify and update their OTR details before applying.
  4. Open the Town Planning Assistant online application link from 15 July 2026.
  5. Log in using the TGPSC ID, date of birth and OTP sent to the registered mobile number.
  6. Verify the personal, educational, community, local-status and reservation details fetched from OTR.
  7. Select the required post preference and examination centre.
  8. Preview the application carefully before proceeding to payment.
  9. Pay the applicable application and examination fees through Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card or UPI.
  10. Click the final confirmation and submit button.
  11. Download the submitted PDF application and retain the reference number for future use.
  12. Complete the application before 5:00 PM on 22 August 2026.
