Stenography Test

English shorthand dictation and computer transcription test carrying 90 marks.

Stage 2

Written Examination

Descriptive English and Assamese examination carrying 100 marks.

Stage 3

Interview

Interview, viva-voce and document verification carrying 30 marks.

Candidates securing the minimum qualifying marks in the stenography test will be considered for shortlisting to the next stage.

Stage 2 – Written Examination

The written examination will be descriptive and conducted for 2 hours. Candidates in a ratio of approximately 1:10, based on the stenography-test merit list, will be called for the written examination.

The written examination is qualifying in nature. Its marks will not be added while preparing the final merit list.

Stage 3 – Interview and Document Verification

Candidates in a ratio of approximately 1:3, based on stenography-test merit and subject to qualification in the written examination, will be called for the interview, viva-voce and document verification.

Official Notice Clarification: The advertisement mentions that candidates must secure 60% marks in the interview, but it also prints 12 out of 30 marks. Since these figures do not mathematically match, candidates should follow any clarification or corrigendum subsequently issued by Gauhati High Court.
