Delhi Higher Judicial Service Examination 2026 – 27 Vacancies
High Court of Delhi has invited online applications from eligible Advocates and Judicial Officers for direct recruitment to the Delhi Higher Judicial Service through the DHJS Examination 2026.
The High Court of Delhi has released the official advertisement for the Delhi Higher Judicial Service Examination 2026. The examination is being conducted to fill 27 vacancies, including 24 existing vacancies and 3 anticipated vacancies, through direct recruitment.
Eligible candidates must submit their applications online through the Delhi High Court recruitment portal. The selection process consists of a Preliminary Examination, Mains Written Examination and Viva-Voce.

Three of the five SC vacancies and four of the five ST vacancies are backlog vacancies. The notified vacancy position is subject to change according to the official rules and court directions.

🎓 Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be a citizen of India.
- An Advocate must have been continuously practising for at least seven years as on 15 July 2026.
- A Judicial Officer must have completed seven years at the Bar before joining the subordinate judicial service; or must possess seven years of combined experience as a Judicial Officer and Advocate.
- A person who has been or is presently in judicial service must possess combined experience of seven years or more as an Advocate or Judicial Officer.
- Applicants must satisfy all conditions prescribed under the Delhi Higher Judicial Service Rules, 1970, as amended.

Age will be determined as on the last date for receipt of online applications, namely 15 July 2026.

Selected candidates will receive the applicable allowances and service benefits according to the Delhi Higher Judicial Service Rules and Government regulations.

✅ Selection Process
The Preliminary Examination is a qualifying screening examination. Final merit will be prepared using the marks obtained in the Mains Written Examination and Viva-Voce.

The Preliminary Examination includes General Knowledge, Current Affairs, English Language, the Constitution of India and various civil, criminal, commercial, labour and intellectual-property laws listed in the official syllabus.
