The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC), Ranchi has issued official Web-Notice No. 18/2026, confirming a vital deadline extension for the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET) 2026. In response to widespread candidate representations, the online registration and fee payment window for both Primary (Classes 1–5) and Upper Primary (Classes 6–8) teaching eligibility tracks has been extended.

📝 Examination Scheme Summary
- Exam Format: The JTET will be conducted in an offline pen-and-paper (OMR) mode.
- Question Weightage: Each paper consists of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) carrying 1 mark each.
- Negative Marking: There is no negative marking for incorrect choices.
- Age Mandate: Candidates must be at least 21 years old. Due to the test not being held regularly since 2016, a one-time upper-age relaxation of 9 years is actively applied.
